Tours

Hidden Ponds is now offering tours to the general public on a limited basis. We maintain a herd of around 40 gypsies (plus a handful of retired horses of other breeds).

Come experience the dream that is the Gypsy Vanner Horse!

Photography Tours:

Available June 1-September 15, Hidden Ponds offers photography tours to professional and amateur photographers looking to expand their portfolios and work on new skills. Photographers explore the 75 acres of Hidden Ponds Gypsies, including the mares with foals, the 35 acre North pasture, where the retired mares, pregnant mares, and younger stock is kept, and the south pastures that contain the show horses. Tours must be scheduled in advance; we do not allow walk-ins as this is our home. Photographers maintain all rights to their images; we simply provide the subjects.

Individual Package:

  • Guided tour of the farm

  • Spend 2 hours (8 am-10 am or 6 pm to 8 pm) in the pastures photographing horses

  • Copy of The Vanner magazine

  • Hidden Ponds swag

  • Price is $50 for one person, or $35/person for 2 people

Group package:

  • Guided tour of the farm

  • Spend 2 hours (8 am-10 am or 6 pm to 8 pm) in the pastures photographing horses

  • 30 minutes photographing horses in doorways for "black background" shots (2 horses)

  • 30 minute Liberty session in the outdoor arena (2 horses)

  • Copy of The Vanner magazine

  • Hidden Ponds swag

  • Price is $35/person for groups of 3 or more people

Sorry, black background photographs and liberty sessions are not available for groups of under 3, due to the time involved with bathing horses (3-5 hours per horse) and the expense of hiring help to bathe and present horses.

We no longer do photography sessions in trade for images, as we have tried this many times and nearly always for all of our time commitment we get few to no photos back. However, if you book a tour and sell the images, please send a link to your gallery so we may purchase images from you!

Mini Farm Tours:

Farm tours for prospective buyers are available year-round. Tour times must be scheduled in advance; we do not allow walk-ins as this is our home. Photography is not allowed except for sales horses (to schedule a photography tour, please see above). The Mini farm tours are free, but do not include tours of the North pasture and are limited to the stallion paddocks, mares with foals (summer months only), and sales horses.
